01W on the way?

The first Indian cyclone (01B, named BIJLI) made landfall on Bangladesh last week.

Now convective cells are becoming active in the Pacific, and models like GFS and ECMWF are predicting a Tropical Cyclone to form over the South China Sea after 25th April…

Climatically storms tend to move northeast towards Taiwan or Luzon Strait at this time of the year. Yet, a northward motion is possible if the ridge remains strong to the east. Last year, TY Neoguri has proved the possibility of TC threat in April…

So, stay tuned!!

    You can use chinese here~
    There is room for intensification.
Quite a number of models move the circulation towards Taiwan.

    More clear now.
NGP predicts a TC to form over the southern/central Philippines 5 days later.

  4. 雷丁 says:

93w is using a north-westard track to move near the Philippines slowly.

Maybe 93w will be the 01W or it will have a new centre convection replacing the original one
