Tropical Storm HAGIBIS (T1407/07W) continues to move north along 116.7E… The storm is passing at about 250 km east of Hong Kong… It will make landfall near Shantou later today…

Satellite animation suggests that HAGIBIS is now weakening as it moves closer to the coast… Rainbands over the northern semicircle of HAGIBIS are weakening due to land interaction and intrusion of drier air… Radar images reveal a gradually degrading appearance but convection close to the circulation centre remains strong… The initial intensity is kept at 75 km/h (40 kts) in this advisory…

TS HAGIBIS will weaken as it makes landfall on eastern Guangdong near Shantou later today…

Outer spiral rainbands of HAGIBIS are bringing occasional squally showers to Hong Kong… Winds will not increase significantly but please stay away from the shorelines as there are swells…

Offshore platform LF13 reported west-northwesterly winds of about 58 km/h…
