HAIMA is a destructive Typhoon with maximum sustained wind speed of about 185 km/h (100 kts) (10-min)… The eye remains ragged but well-defined… An OW eye is surrounded by a B ring at this moment…

HAIMA should be able to strengthen further in the next 36 hours as environmental conditions are favourable… Both HWRF and JGSM indicate a further 20+ kts intensification prior to landfall…

A steering high is found over Okinawa… HAIMA is expected to move west or west-northwest at a slightly faster pace… about 25 to 28 km/h in the next 48 hours… Landfall on Cagayan or Isabela Province is likely on early Thursday morning…
