Typhoon HAIMA (T1622/25W/LawinPH) is centred at about 270 km east-southeast of Tuguegarao… The cyclone is moving west-northwest in the direction of the Cagayan Valley…

HAIMA is a destructive Typhoon with maximum sustained wind speed of about 220 km/h (120 kts) (10-min)… Overall structure of HAIMA appears to be degrading due to land interactions with Luzon… The eyewall weakened slightly but please bear in mind that HAIMA is still a destructive storm…

There may be flctuations in intensity in the next 12 hours but further strengthening is unlikely to occur… HAIMA will weaken after making landfall…

A steering ridge is centred south of Japan… extending westward into southeastern China… HAIMA is expected to move west-northwest and make landfall on Cagayan or Isabela Province later tonight or in the small hours of Thursday… The storm will leave Luzon tomorrow morning…

Friends in Cagayan Valley / Cordillera AR / Ilocos Region should be prepared for Typhoon conditions IMMEDIATELY… Stay in shelters…  DESTRUCTIVE Hurricane Force winds will be observed along the path of HAIMA… There may be storm surges… Take all necessary measures to prevent loss of lives and properties now… Residents in northern parts of Central Luzon should also pay attention to possible heavy rain and strong gusts…
